About Us

Grace Smith Architects was formed in September 2026 by Sala Lauano Lauina Grace and Derek Edward Smith (MBE).

Sala and Derek worked together on the fitout for the French Embassy in Samoa and it was during this collaboration that they decided to combine their skills and experience to set up an architectural practice offering a full range of professional services including architectural design, interior design, master planning, project management and contract administration.

Our design approach at Grace Smith Architects empowers ideas, encourages collaboration and innovation, and is grounded in sustainable, climate and cultural appropriate responses suited to Samoa's remote and unique environment.
